Basil Fedun is a graduate student The Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies (CREEES) at UT Austin. He received his BA in Russian Studies in 2013 from the University of Colorado at Boulder and received a commission as an Infantry Officer in the United States Army. He continues to serve in the Army Special Operations Force. He speaks Russian, French, and Ukrainian and worked on problem sets in Eastern Europe in support of U.S. strategic goals and policy. Basil is married to his wife Ainslee and has a son named Michael. In his spare time, he enjoys studying Catholic theology and apologetics, endurance running, and cooking.
