Yelnur Alimova has worked as a correspondent and executive editor for Zhas Alash newspaper since 2008. She covers politics and economics. In 2011 she was among the journalists who covered Zhanaozen massacre, which took place in western Mangystau region. She is an editor of the book "Zhanaozen: Shooting, prosecution and torture". She participated in the Training of Trainers Program at the Missouri School of Journalism in the US in 2017. She was then appointed to the role of Data-Journalism Trainer for a one-week multimedia training program organized by Soros Foundation-Kazakhstan.
